CITY OF TAYLORVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 3326 AN ORDINANCE ADDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 4, SECTION 4-8 TO THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF TAYLORVILLE, CHRISTIAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS (DISORDERLY HOUSES, BUILDINGS, AND OTHER PREMISES) ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAYLORVILLE THIS 5th DAY OF FEBRUARY , 2007. CITY OF TAYLORVILLE ORDINANCE NO. 3326 AN ORDINANCE ADDING TITLE 5, CHAPTER 4, SECTION 4-8 TO THE CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF TAYLORVILLE, CHRISTIAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS (DISORDERLY HOUSES, BUILDINGS, AND OTHER PREMISES)
WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Taylorville believe it is in the best interest of the public health, safety, morals, and welfare of the residents of the City of Taylorville and those people who enter the territorial jurisdiction of the City of Taylorville to regulate disorderly houses, buildings, and other premises. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and the City Council of Taylorville, Illinois, as follows: SECTION 1: The following section shall be added as Title 5, Chapter 4, Section 4-8 to the City Code of the City of Taylorville: 5-4-4-8 Disorderly houses, buildings, and other premises
a) Generally. No person owning or in possession, charge or control of any house, building, or premises shall use the same, or permit the use of the same, or rent the same to be used for any business or employment, or for any purpose of pleasure or recreation, if such use shall, from its boisterous nature, disturb or destroy the peace of the neighborhood in which such house, building, or premises is situated, or be dangerous or detrimental to health. Disorderly houses, buildings, or other premises shall include, but not be limited to, a house, a building, or other premises where three felony or three misdemeanor incidents have occurred within ninety (90) days. No felony or misdemeanor occurring at a house, building, or other premises where the person owning or in possession, charge, or control of said house, building, or premises is the victim of said felony or misdemeanor shall apply to the three offenses as set forth herein.
(b) Declared a nuisance. Every house, building, and other premises kept in violation of subsection (a) of this section is hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and the keeper and all persons connected with the maintenance thereof, and all persons patronizing or frequenting the same shall be punished as provided in subsection (c) of Title 5, Chapter 4, Section 4-8 as set forth below.
(c) Persons or corporations found guilty of violating this code will be fined not less that $500.00.
SECTION 2: This ordinance shall be incorporated in the City Code of Taylorville, Illinois as Title 5, Chapter 4, Section 4-8. SECTION 3: The provisions of other City of Taylorville ordinances, to the extent that they duplicate, conflict with, or otherwise affect the validity hereof, shall be disregarded, and otherwise, all the provisions of all other City of Taylorville ordinances shall remain in full force and effect. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall become effective upon its passage, approval, adoption, and publication in pamphlet form as provided by law.

The pamphlet form of Ordinance No. 3326, including the Ordinance and cover sheet thereof was prepared, and a copy of such Ordinance was posted in the City Hall, commencing on February 6 , 2007, and continuing for at least ten days thereafter. Copies of such Ordinance were also available for public inspection upon request in the Office of the City Clerk.
