R. U. O. K.  Program

The Taylorville Police Department has set up this program to help seniors or homebound persons who live alone and might need assistance when an emergency arises.  Daily between the hours of 8AM and 4PM the Taylorville Police Department police dispatcher will make three calls  to contact the R.U.O.K. program participant with the phone number that they provide. If no contact is made a family member or a neighbor is contacted who should have access to the premises of the participant. If this step is unsuccessful the police department will dispatch an officer to check on the well being of the participant and render the appropriate help which may be necessary. This service is provided free of charge to residents of the City of Taylorville.
