Taylorville Police Benevolent and
Protective Association Unit 16
The Police Benevolent Association enthusiastically sponsors the following activities in the community. Christmas, Cops and Kids. This activity is accomplished during the Christmas season with selected families receiving clothing and toys. Wal-Mart cosponsors this event. All gifts are funded through donations from the community. P.B.P.A. Scholarship The Police Benevolent sponsors one $500 scholarship to a resident of Taylorville. The recipient must have a 2.5 G.P.A. on a 4.0 grading system. The recipient must also show financial need and be enrolled in a Law Enforcement Program. The scholarship is renewable. The P.B.P.A. is also one of the sponsors for the Calhoun Carpet Regional Open. The Senior Professional Bowling Association comes to Taylorville annually. Junior Bowlers 16 years of age and under are sponsored to bowl with a professional bowler, in a Pro/Am tournament. The P.B.P.A. supports local youth activities, including the Taylorville Swim team, Soccer, Little League, Basketball, Softball, and Y.M.C.A.
